Actuary / Senior Actuarial Analyst

Responsibilities
As part of a small and dynamic team, your responsibilities will evolve with the workflow, business requirements and your experience.
You can expect involvement in a wide variety of projects including but not limited to:-

Actuarial Valuation Reports;
-
Financial Condition Reports;
-
Capital modelling for ICAAP Reports, including stochastic modelling (Dynamic Financial Analysis) and scenario analysis;
-
Self-insurer liability valuations;
-
Assessment and Calculation of Risk Charges within the APRA Capital Framework;
-
Monitoring of portfolio trends and experience;
-
Pricing and Rate Setting including original research; and
-
Quantitative analysis and modelling to derive insights and strategy.

About you
What we take for granted:-
-
Minimum 2 – 3 years of actuarial experience in general insurance;
-
If not qualified, the intention to work towards FIAA qualification; and
-
Strong Excel and report writing skills.

Programming experience, including the ability to interpret, improve and create new programs and procedures;

An inquisitive and resourceful approach to their work;

A passion for critical thinking and taking the initiative;

Proficiency in effective management of competing priorities;

The ability to appropriately tailor communication (including modelling results and technical jargon) to varying audiences, including various levels of management; and
-
Experience in the implementation of the new accounting standard AASB 17.
